66 palestinians killed by israeli action this month
3 israelis killed by palestinian action this month
International Court of Justice rules against Israels wall
On July 9th the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issues its nonbinding opinion on the separation wall, ruling (14-1, with only American judge Thomas Buerghenthal dissenting) that segments built on occupied Palestinian territory violate international law and should be removed or not built. Two days later Sharon comments on the ruling after a letter bomb has killed 1 IDF soldier, stressing that the "bombing proves the need for the separation wall", calls the bombing the “first murder sponsored by the International Court of Justice.” Israel never adheres to UNSC resolutions and neither will follow the ICJ ruling. At the end of July, Palestinian, Israeli, international peace activists begin a 3-week Freedom March to protest the wall.
As promised at the end of June, IDF "implements harsher measures" in Gaza, this month killing 66 palestinians. A mix of assassinations and random killings.
Prominent Jewish residents of Ashkelon ask Mayor Roni Mahatzri to ban Israeli Arabs, bedouin from staying overnight in the city, attending the city’s entertainment venues, complaining that “bedouin and Israeli Arabs from the north of the country employed in the city’s construction sites hang out with local [Jewish] girls” in the evenings.
