This day by day Chronology is based on data from Washington Post, New York Times, AFP, AP, Ha'Aretz, Reuters, UPI, Jerusalem Post, al-Hayat al-Jadida, and many other sources, compiled by the Institute for Palestine Studies and UNISPAL, and covers the period since the start of the second Intifada in September 2000. It is updated regularly and presently covers the period until July 31st 2009.

During the Intifada according to the Chronology 7,176 palestinians have been killed so far, and 1.109 israelis. These figures may vary from other statistics, and the variation only reflects the problems in getting exact figures from an area at war. The palestinian losses cited are only due to israeli action, and israeli losses only due to palestinian action. I.e. internal strife or suicide bombers killing themselves are not counted.

Below figures on killings during every month of the Intifada are shown. These numbers however dim the daily nightmare of curfews, roadblocks, houses being demolished, olive trees being burned or uprooted, missile, mortar, or aircraft attacks. The complete Chronology is an untold story now being told about the Killing Fields in Palestine and Israel.
